| Bogus violation pure and simple. Anything within the city limit shouldnt trigger a violation. This sounds like 1 of those weeny "paperless logs" fiascos. |

| Sorry, I didn't make what happened entirely clear. He was told he took off too early according to the time he last drove. When I started asking him questions what he did after he stopped, he remembered "moving", and called them back, asked if that could have done it, and they said yes. So, all is well, but I wanted to make sure you couldn't legally be in violation for something as small as that. So, minute movement -backing up shouldn't have even been noticed, or at least, if they were wondering, they should have asked instead of assuming violation right away? Thanks for responding! New Drivers make sure you're aware! Don't accept being told you are in violation if this happens to you and you're sure this is something like what you've done.

| From the way I understand it, as long as you are not driving on a public road you do not have to log it on Line 3. And technically, anything under 7-1/2 minutes does not require a change of duty status. Now, if it took him over 7-1/2 but less than 15, he would have had to log 15 minutes under Line 4. That is the way our instructors at the driving school explained it. Any driving in the yard was logged Line 4. Maybe LogsRUs can come in here and clear it up.

| It ain't anything that technical, if all hubby did was jockey the truck back into the spot, the the problem is with the paperless log- it should not have logged the truck as moving, or of a change of duty status, even if it took him more than 15 mins, as long as it was just moving around the parking lot. RBPC, your hubby should get with his logs dept and have them correct that in their records, so it doesn't show him in violation. |

| When he called them back, they said it wouldn't show, I'm pretty sure. I will let him know what you said, just to be sure. Thanks all! paperless log = log dept. big brother via satelite (got ya) He didn't turn in his log yet, so I am assuming correct with this term?

| Well, if his company runs qualcomm, but not paperless logs (where you use a program in the qualcomm to log your hours) then someone in logs must have decided to do a spot check on hubby, and saw the truck running, and assumed the had changed location. Or, His QC was running behind on his location (happens on cloudy days); meaning you are rolling down the road, but the QC thinks you are somewhere else (because the clouds interfere with it getting a positive location on the truck) and when he moved the truck, it caught up on his location and assumed he had moved. Talk about annoying, QC has its plusses, but it is far too annoying most of the time! |

| Stupid paperless log BS. How can anyone make any money in this business if they're going to get harassed for being safety conscious? |
