Would this likely show up on a DAC report?

Let me say first that this was a road construction company which employed some pretty irresponsible folks: ex cons who were sometimes violent with other employees; folks who didn't care if they lived or died and whose driving style on the job(!) showed that; some folks that I suspect were drinking on the job but couldn't prove it; some practicing alcoholic folks who definitely stayed up drinking all night at least three nights a week every week and then expected to be able to work properly the next day; etc. (I'm actually downplaying the crap that went on there.) Also, the boss knew about this stuff, but did nothing. I didn't have a cdl, and wanted some experience driving a large commercial vehicle. I knew this job would give that to me, and couldn't get on driving with any other outfit here without a cdl. They hired me for driver position knowing that I didn't have a cdl yet. I figured I would just work there until I saved enough for private class a instruction, then get the heck away from there.

Anyway, I worked this straight truck driving job (25 or 30 foot straight truck with auto trans) without having the required class b cdl. I got hurt on the truck (ankle), but not due to unsafe behaviour. My foreman dropped the ball and my injury was reported to the boss too late for me to take the drug test. I recieved worker's compensation anyway, and company insurance paid for medical treatment and physical therapy.

I explained my work environment to a friend, who is an old factory worker. We agreed that it was an unsafe environment and that I should leave. She advised that I should wait to quit the job until the day the doctor released me to work. That way, I could collect the much needed WC until the last minute. (I did get hurt kind of bad. Thankfully, I have healed since.) So I did wait to quit until the morning that the doctor had me released to go back to work.

My question is, does any of this (the accident; the lack of a drug test following the accident; etc.) sound like it might end up on my DAC report?

Hi Truckingbum.

I did get a cdl sometime after I left that company, and will be going to work at a much better outfit soon. Well, that's if this stuff doesn't show up on my DAC.

If it does, it is easily disputed because the employer (foreman) was negligent in providing a drug test. As long as you didn't refuse.
It may also for you to remove any negative information because of their error.

You're DAC report covers what you've done driving a commericial vehicle with your CDL. Whatever trucking company hires you is more than likely going to be looking at your driving record to. For instance, a speeding ticket in a four wheeler could possible lose you some browny points with some companies. But if you don't have a CDL yet, or haven't driven a commericial vehicle for a company yet, then you don't even have a DAC.

its not an accident in the trucking sense of a motor vehicle accident.
I call it a workplace injury
your not required to take a drug test if your boss doesnt tell you to.
if their not smart enough to request a drug test to protect themselves after you injure your ankle do you realy think they will be wise enough to utilize dac services.
However your next employer will most likly inquire about your wc claim.
if its a large outfit a small local job mayb wont care.
good luck follow roadkills advice if they have (not likly)

Here's the thing that many of you are missing.

The only way things can go on your DAC is if a company utilizes that system. There are many companies that don't report to DAC (aka USIS). I'd venture a guess that a company as negligent as the one described in this thread wouldn't report to USIS. It costs companies to utilize this service. A lot of companies don't wanna spend the money to use them.
