| What gives the government the right to tell a company how they can do business? If the company is not breaking the law, the government should stay out of it. Is outsourcing illegal? no. Are companies required to have their operations where the government thinks they should be? no. Free markets don't work that way. sorry. |

you cannot have certain things that are the lifeblood of a society in the hands of private industry, electricity, health needs, oil, education these items are NOT for private use and profit, but benefit the society as a whole, thus to put them in the hands of private people, as if it is a radio or a pair of pants, puts that society at the mercy of these same people capitalism has its positive and negative points, as does socialism, communism and a host of other ideologies, you keep chanting its edicts as if they are the holy grail, they are not they are mans opinion of how things should go, and as everything else of man, it has its flaws i am all for free market, free enterprise, but we are being choked to death and we are still holding on to these ideologies as its killing us |

| and regarding this industry what is bad is that these guys are changing laws for their benefit, so when you discuss changing the law, a law can be changed with the stroke of a pen, and some dollars to buy it, which inherently make the whole system up for sale, thus countering whatever benefit you think is achieved by your ideal free market enterprise the government, laws and corporations are evolving into one in the same, so you cant just say, its not like they are breaking any laws, these corporations are MAKING their own laws, and have these lobbyists, ie ATA there at their disposal for influencing laws that are made in their favor its not like the big corporate trucking companies are squaring off with the independents, they are actually trying to neuter the effect of the independents by having a law passed to slow down their vehicles now tell me why CREngland cares how fast joe blow drives his truck? because CREngland wants to have an unfair advantage in the free market place by changing laws to help CREngland this is not free enterprise, but facism, whereby, private companies run the government...........which is what we have become anyway |

The United States is No. 1 in economic output, called gross domestic product, amounting to $13.13 trillion in 2006. With less than 5 percent of the world's population, at about 302 million, the United States accounts, by different measures, for between 20 and 30 percent of world GDP. The GDP of just one state, California, amounting to $1.5 trillion in 2006, exceeded the GDP in all but about eight countries that year. Quote:
So, that argument is a bunch of bunk. Quote:

Just to be clear, I was not stating that ads in spanish are the problem. But when the practice is accepted (and applauded by several posters on this board) it is indicative of absolute ignorance. This ignorance is the problem, and probably will NOT be overcome. Also, "poor mexicans" are very much a cause for concern and outrage, when they are allowed to take our jobs and services. While we also have quite a few other problems, this is at the forefront of our demise as a nation. |

| I'm not sure if this was directed at me or not. But I'm a 'National Socialist'. Just so we're on the same page. |

you arent, you are a truck driver (so i assume) you are at the bottom of the food chain, you are running to keep up, and they keep spinning the wheel faster and faster, our pace of life is at about 90mph, if you like being treated like a cog in a wheel, so you can brag about how your country is on top, you go ahead i am only going to be on this earth a few more years and i dont want myself, nor my children and grandchildren to live in a world where they are only thought of by their government as consumers, to be consumed, and then tossed out when they are not profitable capitalism is solely about the mighty dollar, period, and though it may bring much benefit in terms of technical advancements, it reduces us in the sight of governments and corporations into cash cows whether you realize it or not, people are suffering and whats worse, the people are suffering (like yourself) are the very ones supporting the people causing their suffering |

| If you think you don't matter, then you don't. You know what happens when you assume. If you are not making it in our so-called flawed society, that's too bad. But don't lump me or anyone else in with you. We call it the pursuit of happiness for a reason. |
