Trucking in general. Of course I'm a little biased here since I work LTL, but I've also done OTR. I find that my knees tend to give me problems after sitting for long periods of time. But then they also give me problems when doing a lot of climbing in and out of trucks and trailers.

It is different depending on the area you are in. I pull fuel out of Belton SC to Greenville, Anderson and Spartinburg South Carolina it is about a 15min ride to a Anderson store and about a 25 min ride to a Greenville store and 45 min to the GSP airport in Spartinburg we get $38.95 for Anderson $39.45 for Greenville and $53.25 for Spartinburg stores and airport. We also get 025 a minute for waiting time and we do not have to give up any time if I pull into a station and can't get to my drops because they are blocked I start collecting that right away and it comes out to $15.00 per hour paid to the minute. Now if you live around a big city like Atlanta Ga the rates seem to be higher because of the traffic and the stress of that. The ins at Fla Rock is the best I have ever had in my 38 yrs of driving the work is easy sometimes the weather makes you want to through up your hands and call it quits but for the most part you can make a good living and spend all your money trying to live on the road. I spent about 35 yrs on the road and made good money till I looked at what it cost me to live and all I missed at home. hope this helped you all I can say is stay with a large company like Fla Rock, Eagle Tank Lines. If you are in Tampa check out Fla Rock and Tank they are hiring in Tampa and offering bounces to sign on and if you put down someones name on your app than both of you get the bonus oh my name is (Dennis Clay) lol. Good luck and Happy Gas Hauling

Hello, do you know if Fla Rock and Tank has a strict policy on the recent experience. I drove 20 years ago and went back last spring and got my CDL A back. But I only stayed with the company couple months not thinking it would be that bad, my bad. Also if you know about Eagle, I will put your name down....

Our small trucks that hauled 9000 gallons only had bulkheads because the compartments were too small. On our super tankers we had bulkheads with baffles on the larger compartments. We drove truck and trailers which are much different than a semi. You drive one and you'll never want to go back. Of course all is gone now since the majors are selling out, but I rode the cash cow as long as I could before I retired early. Took the golden handshake and only get up early for a good tee time or the fish are running.
