That trips my trigger faster than anything

Another issue. Having a complete jack ##### blow your doors off, then having to pass him minutes later...cuz he's on the **** cell phone, not paying attention, driving 63 mph in his triple digit truck.

The jack leg must not have ever heard of cruise. I run cruise as much as I can because my leg gets tired of pedalling.

Even when I have a truck that will run far more than 65 and I'm loafing along for MPGs I'll kick the cruise off for a minute and let them around and then go back to cruise. Like has already been said you usually don't see them again.

And why is it MY problem to back off and show courtesy to the mile of vehicles that YOUR dumb ##### is holding up? Even if I did back of at this point, now I'm gonna end up trying to get past you again when you dog out on the next hill.
Of course, as someone else said, I could jump into the next pickle park and kill a few minutes.....but what fun would that be?
heres the thing 90% of the time i DO slow down and let them pass.. not for them because they are iggnorant, but for the 4wheelers behind them.

but in this case like ss said... im empty. my cruise is at 65.. im staying at 65 the whole way.. you're loaded and goin down a hill your doin 69mph but in 3.6 seconds theres gonna be an uphill and you are going to be going 56 mph.

so if i slow down and let you by, KNOWING this is gonna happen because i just witnessed it several times in a row, why would i let you in front of me only for me to have to pass you in about 15 seconds.

now i will say this i came up on some lap traffic (a slow truck) blew by him, the line of cars behind me kept speedy gonzalas stuck in lap traffic and i put a good mile or two on him and never had to deal with him again. so things ended up working for the best.

and this isnt about whose faster, if your faster get in front of me i dont care. but if your fully loaded and you are in hilly terrign.. passing isnt in your best interest

I drive an ungoverned truck, and instead of drag racing with Bubba who just has to pass me in Ohio, because I am going 0.0001 mile to slow for him, I slow down, let him over and be done with it.

Who cares about all that crap, makes your day just miserable if you let this stuff get to you.

I also don't race anyone coming on the highway, if you got out of my way to let me in, I just keep it slow, let you pass, and then step on it.

I know what my truck can do, I don't need to get in a pissing contest with anyone and I wish more people would consider doing the same. It is bad enough out here without us drivers fighting each other.

Too-Tall,

As others have suggested, drop it down to 63 for 5 minutes or so. I did it whenever I was in the middle of seemingly endless congestion, and avoided unwelcome and unnecessary tension. What's it really cost to do that, 5 or 10 miles in an 8-10 driving day? Let's face it, some days it takes very little to get our goats. Flip the cruise down from time to time, take a sip of water, whistle a favorite song, envision the pretty girl you saw at your last stop. Do whatever it takes to stop the annoyances from owning your day. It's worth every one of the 5-10 miles you might sacrifice.

Slow down, let him by, run a 63 for 10 minutes and you'll never see him again.

Or just catch the next rest area, take a 15min break.

It is easy to put the blame on the other driver, but once you decided to not to let him by you have just become as bad as him.

I've had this discussion in truck stops with other drivers, and they never like to hear this, but it is nothing more than another form of road rage. BY YOU!

Part of being a "professional" drivers is not only taking responsibility for your own actions, but being able to adjust to others on the road, 4wheelers and big trucks alike.

When you got into this battle of wills, did it ever occur to you to look in your mirror and see how many vehicles were being involved in your dispute. Did it ever occur to you that tempers were being fueled not only by the moron trying to pass you, but also by your own stubbornness.

Do you ever have a truck passing you at a very slow rate and simply reach over to your cruise and knock it down 2mph and let him by. In this way it takes 10 secs to be passed instead of 10 minutes.

Your anger will only make the situation worse, it will NEVER, NEVER make things better.

Not all drivers will be courteous or professional, but if you make it a point to be, that's one closer.

I gotta go with this one. A relaxed driver will live longer. Let the guy go by and relax and enjoy your ride.
