Duckweiser...

There's LOTS of ex military in the trucking industry.

Myself, ex Navy...15 years...First Class Sonar Technician.

I tried to do the regular job thing after I got out and it just wasn't working for me. I was looking for something where I didn't have a snot nosed supervisor looking constantly over my shoulder. Trucking was a good fit for me. Even though I have had a few snot nosed dispatchers in my driving career, they weren't in the truck with me. I picked up on time and delivered on time. What I did between those times was up to me...and the schedule.

I was also looking for a job that allowed me to see the USA. I'd seen most of the world in the 15 years I was in...so seeing the country was something I wanted to do. It's been great.

Although my OTR days are behind me now, trucking is still fun and it pays me pretty well too.

Trucking can get in your blood just like the salt air does.

Good luck and have fun.
