FFE or CR England for Newbie? thanks

Hello all,

Tichdaddy here again with some more questions.

As a newbie with less than perfect MVR, I have questions about FFE and CR England.

Looks like my MVR is OK with FFE and England and was hoping someone might have some previous experiences to share about either company, good or bad. Let's have it.

As I have stated before Covenant and Wrener have me pre approved, but I would like a few more options.

Thanks again to all...

USA CR England has a good truck driver school

CR England has a good school, I went through their one in Salt Lake City. The instructors in the school were great and my trainer really showed me all the tricks. This is what the website says... and I agree.

C.R. England's world-class training program is the best in the industry, with a strong emphasis on safety. The comprehensive program consists of classroom, on-truck and over-the-road training. Not only will you get your commercial driver license, you'll also build a foundation of safe driving practices that will assist you in building a career with C.R. England...for the long haul.

Training:

The training program is divided into four distinct phases. Phase One
Spend 18 days learning how to operate the equipment properly and safely as well as learning the rules and regulations that govern professional drivers. You will also learn about our equipment and the paperwork required of a driver.
Phase Two
Attend a three-and-a-half day company orientation to familiarize yourself with C.R. England policy and procedures.
Phase Three
Phase three is your on-the-job training during which you begin to receive pay. You will be assigned to a certified driving instructor. You are with an instructor for a minimum of 21 days to receive 15,000 miles of training. You will be paid $57.14 per day, which equates to $400 per week. There will be four learning modules you will need to complete during this part of your training. At the end of this training, you will be given a road evaluation and attend a one-day certification program. At this point you gain "Certified Driver" status.
Phase Four
This phase is the C.A.T. (Career Advancement Team) Program. During this phase, as a company driver, you will be a 2nd seat with an independent contractor for three weeks. This gives you the opportunity to observe our lease program up close and gain additional driving experience. You will be paid 11 cents per mile for all truck miles plus pickup and drop pay and detention pay. (The average pay will be $450 to $600 per week) You will be required to complete four learning modules during this phase of your training.

Once you have completed your training program you can choose your career path. Your options are:
  • Lease your own truck and become an independent contractor running your own company.
  • Lease your own truck six-month demo lease.
  • Remain as a second seat at 13 cents a mile and continued company benefits.
  • Remain a company driver.

CR England

Thank you for the info.

I know an England driver who liked their school and had positive comments about the company, although he leases and I would start as company driver-he seems to like them overall.

Thanks again...

LOL well I think you get the hint that FFE would be the better choice of the two.. I forget his name but He had got out of the military and went driving for FFE and really was having a good time with them, he posted a few good things here on the site..
