Well most companies do thier best in trying to get you home if you choose to go home...

I personally have missed Christmas and had to spend it out on the road..

My boyfriend had the option of being home or working and earning a $500 bonus.

Most try to get you home. I'm home

Many will try to get you to work, via bonuses. We were offered $200. Not enough to even make me think about it LOL.

I worked for one company (years ago) that offered $500 for Christmas Eve, another $500 for Christmas Day.... I took the bonus, and was 4 days late getting home.

In reality, I could have taken the bonus and worked. We won't be having our Christmas until the 29th. We're waiting on family from out of town to get here. We'll have a small Christmas on the 25th...but the big one is on the 29th, when we can all get together. We've done it this way for years. Family NOT the day is most important here

I've been home since saturday. go back the day after Christmas. But don't make any money sitting at home. When i worked for JB Hunt, they claimed they got all their drivers home for Christmas.

A ton of companies don't give a darn and you won't get home in time for Christmas. Some definitely do and you will be home for Christmas. It really depends on the company and its policies.

So True!

That's one thing we have here, is a policy to make sure our drivers get home for the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas!
