I want to make sure my understanding of the 60/70 rule is correct. If a company operates less than 7 days a week, a driver cant be on duty for more than 60 hours in a 7 day period. If a company operates 7 days a week, a driver cant drive more than 70 hours in an 8 day period. Either way, the driver must take 34 hours in between the 60 and 70 hour periods?
Is this correct?

After 34 hours OD, reset your clock to either 60 or 70 hours.

optional. You do not have to reset. Sometimes it makes more sense to reset, as in when you don't pick up too many hours at midnight. But if you see on your logs that you pick up more hours, you can keep going.

The 60 and 70 hour rules applies to driving. You may work 24 hours a day 365 days a year and never be in violation so long as you do not attempt to drive.
You can unload trucks, work the dock, fuel trucks, etc to make more money. Just remember to do the 34 hour reset or wait until the hours worked 7 days ago (8 days ago if using the 70/8 day rule) falls off.
If your company closes down over the weekend chances are you will have to use the 60hr/7day rule. If your company operates 7 days a week then you will use the 70 hr/8 day rule. -
The 60/70 hour rule is added up between lines 3 & 4, however once you have reached 60 or 70 hours you can be on line 4 all you want, however the hours you are over on your 60/70 will come out of the hours you have available for tommorrow etc. (being on line 4 passed the 60/70 hr rule is only like borrowing money and paying it back at 12:01 am the next day. Sometimes this is needed.. If you take a 34 hour restart there is nothing to worry about anyhow .
But yes I can be on line 4 365/7 days a week and not be in violation is a true statement. If you drove past the 60th/70th hour you would be in violaiton.
