Weigh Stations

What is the rule on weigh stations? Do you have to stop at everyone you see or just certain ones?

if you don't have prepass..yes

if the light is blinking, saying all trucks enter weigh station..yes

a good way to go by is .."when in doubt, pull in and go thru it" ... if your legal then you have nothing to worry about and it doesn't waste alot of time doing so.

We have a problem in LA. Some of our drivers have gotten tickets for blowing the scale when they got a green light for prepass. Saying they did not follow the sign all trucks must enter. I have heard more than one say this happened to them. I was just down there last week and I went in when I got the bypass sign. Better safe than sorry and more money in my wallet.

I know that the last mav driver told me he got a $2.000 fine and was fighting the ticket. What they tell you and what they write you are 2 different things. I know it is a problem for us in LA. I pull into all of them. The other states I follow prepass.

it's a box that is on the windshield that aloows truckers to go thru toll booths and bypass weigh stations. companies pay for this little tool.

no problem. my company pays cash at all toll roads which becomes expensive driving up here in PA. it costs me $77 one way from philly to the new stanton exit on 76.

PrePass doesn't pay tolls, it only allows you to by-pass a weigh station. E-Pass or Sun pass (it's what we have down here in Fl) is the electronic toll device.
