First year pay scale
Basic question here. What is the average base pay take home after taxes for a first year cdl driver? company vs leasing ect. Looking at prime transportion thanks Dale

How much per mile do they pay? How many miles?

Starting out when you get your own truck, it will end up being $400 - $500 a week after tax. Less if you get some insurance and all that, and road expenses, such as eating. That is as a company driver, and not including things such as layover pay, unloading pay, etc.

Again, just figure out how much they pay to start, how many miles they give, and do that math.

Do a search on this board of all forums and read every one of them concerning Prime. Then run away as fast as you can. If you don't I will have no pity for you.

As far as avg pay, that will vary wildly. From 2-300 up to $1000/week if you do your research and sign up with a good company. (hint: Crete, TMC) two of the few companies where you can make very good money as a beginning driver.

Concerning Leasing, it's is absolutely the dumbest thing you could do as a newbie driver(not a good idea for an experienced driver either). Simply read the posts from guys that have had the courage to tell about their adventures when choosing that path.
