Unhappy Help! Someone please ease my mind on this! :(

I was all planned to start CR England on Monday the 18th... My recruiter told me he needed my Nevada driver's license number from when I lived there in 2004.

When I called the NV DMV to get the number, they informed me that my license was suspended in that state. My life was so crazy back then when I moved back to NY that I totally forgot I had an outstanding ticket!

The ticket itself was for running a red light (that had just went from yellow to red as I went under it) - and it was the only ticket I got since 2000. And before 2000, my last ticket was in 1994, so my record is pretty good, but it's the suspension fact.

Now, I called up and paid the ticket by phone and now I had to send a check to Nevada DMV so that they can officially lift the suspension. The check won't get there for 2 or 3 days, so I have to wait until then to even find out what my fate is.

My recruiter said he is going to wait until they get the check and take my suspension out of the national computers before forwarding the driver's license number to CR England.

But he also says he is not sure what will happen.

Even though my license was suspended in Nevada, I had my license in NY since I moved back in 2004, so he said that's a plus.

Is there anyone with good knowledge about the technicalities dealing with this? Am I screwed? I had and still have my heart set on this

Can anyone please answer:

1) Do you think CR England will still accept me - remember my record itself is pretty good. One ticket since the year 2000, and 2 tickets total - since 1994... No DWI's or anything like that. The license was suspended in NV, but I held and still hold a valid NY state license which I switched over in 2004.

2) Even if CR England denies me now, do I have a chance with another company that offers training?

Please try to lift my hopes back up - but also, be honest. (if it's possible to do both)

Dam... I really want to do this, too. I been shopping for things to bring with me, been telling all my friends and family... Now my hopes are hanging in the balance!

Billy

When was it suspended? More than likely if it was more than 5 years ago--you should be ok. Being that it was for a red light ticket--shouldnt have no major issues. I think if its over 5 yrs shouldnt be an issue. Good luck to you!

It was in the summer of 2004!

But I had my NY State license ever since I switched back in 2004.

SO no, it was only about 4 years ago. A little less than 4 years ago. Will I still be ok you think? And if not, what about other companies?

It's hard to say, it depends on how well Nevada takes care of the fact the suspension was lifted, and the fact that you had a license in another state during all this time should help, but some companies regard any suspension for any reason as a reason not to hire, and many of those companies are insurance companies.

The worst crimes in this civilization are committed by people in business attire.

Should have paid by credit card. Your check is going to take longer to clear and they won't lift the suspension until they get their money.

Motorcycle my 2c 4ya ...

Get proof that it was just a traffic light ticket that led to the suspension because it didn't get paid. I believe if you can actually talk to someone and give them proof of "what&why" it happened, you will be fine. I think if you can "not prove" what it was and why, then your odds are not too good.
So get the proof you need!

Thanks, all.

Yes, I did pay by credit card to pay the ticket. I paid it on Friday, but the DMV also requires me to pay a fee to take my suspension out of the national computer. I was about to pay by CC, but she told me they dont accept CC's by phone! I had to send a money order and pay $16.00 express. The woman at the Post office told me it should be there by 3pm tomorrow, which is noon in Vegas.

But who knows how long it will sit there before they open it and everything.

Hopefully by about 4 or 5pm my time they will have it out and I can call my recruiter back. He told me to call him once it is out and he will; then FWD my Nevada license number to CRE.

He told me that there's a good chance I have nothing to worry about, but still, even if there's a 5% chance of it going bad, I get nervous. Just that I got myself all worked up for this. Bought a new cell phone, ... a new camera... damn

I drove a cab for 14 years - I am NOT going back to that - so help me God.

That is a good idea. I will see if I can get proof somehow. You know, I chat in a political chatroom called America-debate. It's IRC chat - kind of like this, but in real-time. Been chatting there since 1999 and got to know some real great people along the way. One woman lives in Salt Lake - her name is Marlee... her son is a manager for CRE - just so happens. I didnt even know this until chatting with her and she saw me say about SLC and she was like "Hey i live there!" and one thing led to another and it just so happens her son works for them.

He doesnt drive - he's some kind of customer relations manager. He talks to customers who got their shipment late and tries to kind of make them not angry or whatever lol

But anyway - who knows... maybe if he has a little pull, it would be cool.

But it's not the DOT, right? It's the company...

Because I know from working at the cab company for so long. You can be the owners son and if you have a bad driving record and the insurance company won't cover you, you can't drive. Period. it is totally out of the company's hands.

I am surprised no one has said it.

Why are you going to C.R. Engla
nd?

C.R. England is one of the absolute worst companies to work for! They have numerous lawsuits against them.
There are other companies that will train you to get your CDL. C.R. England is so bad, I would beg SWIFT to hire and train me!

Have you done research on C.R. England? I strongly suggest you do some research before you commit. I understand that people have situations happen in their life and they may feel this is my opportunity, I am going to take it. SIR! Do some diligent research before you commit a terrible mistake!

C.R. England is the worst trucking company ever!

I would agree that Swift,Werner, or Schneider would be better than CRE!
