If you haven't done so already, you need to check to see if they recruit from your area. As of yesterday afternoon, the Orlando area is the Southern most limit of their recruitment range. Sorry and for the record, I'd be there if it were not the case.

I attended RDTC in late October, graduated on November 9th, ran Evos I, II and III, finally getting out into the general fleet this past week. The training is top-notch. School is three weeks, then you test for your CDL. Evo I and II you will be in a truck with a trainer for a few weeks, driving out in the real world under matching logbooks and first-hand supervision -- no getting around it, but you just need to keep your eyes on the prize. Evo III (alone in your truck) is usually 7 weeks as long as your DSR doesn't think that you need more time. You will run legal and safe, and they won't put up with any logbook shenanigans -- as it should be.

February in Marshfield is nasty. But that's just Wisconsin in mid-winter. It's a great town and if you go there you'll be treated well.

Good luck with the decision. I am a week or two behind you, still narrowing the choices to a smaller group. Can I ask which companies make up the list?

Roehl and ?

I start at RDTC on the 25th. I'll be sure to post my experience. I have nothing but good things to say about the recruiters thus far. After being in the military I tend to take everybody with a grain of salt, but they seem good-to-go. Oh, and I got hired out of Jacksonville. I looked at Tampa too but was told there aren't any openings in that area. Good luck.

Thanks. All of the recruiters have been pleasant, but the more comparison shopping I do, the less accurate the recruiters seem to have been. So I am not doubting their sincerity at all, just their accuracy about " this is the only X plan in the industry ", etc.

Just today I talked to a recruiter from Roadmaster, and he said " No company will repay your tuition without a contract ". Yesterday, I spoke with a Swift recruiter who said " we do not write a contract for the tuition ".

So....both are pleasant people, they are simply not accurate.

I can adjust my schedule, so Roehl might be a good option for me. Tampa is just a place on the map, and I can go anywhere or be based anywhere.

No home, no family, just looking to drive and learn....
