Here's a good job

If you're young in good shape and want an exexciting job go apply with the government to become a Department of Energy courier. They haul special items/material that you'll protect with your life. You'll go through training and become a federal officer that drives a special truck. No need to worry about scales or any DOT officials because you're exempt. I used to load these trucks and back in the 80's the drivers were making 60k to 70k a year and only on the road about six months. I didn't believe it either until a driver showed me. The place to apply is at DOE Transportation Safeguard Division Alburqurque NM.

I don't know if you even need to go to CDL school because I know they teach drivers their way on a simulator and it's not one of those cheap models. The trucks cost in the millions and the last time I was near them they ran three drivers in the cab that rotated every 8 hours.

I just thought I'd throw that out there because it's not known very well and it might be a goal for some driver.

If I'm correct on this. They will do more then a background check on you. More like a cavity search. I'm sure it will take a secret to top secret clearance to get this job.

I'm not sure about top secret but secret yes for sure. You can see more of what they do if you do a search using DOE transportation safeguard division.

I'm an old jarhead that used to guard that "special" material they haul. Those trucks came into our compound many times. Pretty cool really! EXTENSIVE background check. They Talk to childhood friends and neighbors and teachers. Psych evals and Physicals are just the beginning. They usually don't travel alone either. one or more suburbans for escort and each is armed like a swat team or a seal team. Awesome! No stopping along the way either. That trooper or DOT cop trying to pull you over... he gets pulled over instead and a little education from the escorts.

If there is anyone interested in this job for the government. Send me a message and I will give you the link. The age limit is 21-37 and no felonies, misdmeanors. You are trained as a Federal Agent for the energy department.

Hell we might know each other or at least been at the same site. I worked very close with Marines and was a GMT. I know of one story they told me where the highwat patrol was trying to pull the truck over and they just made a call from the truck and the cop was told to back off.

I know for a fact that they never open the trailer until it's at the location to load or unload. You don't want to know what happens if it is open before that.

We could never look into the cab until the trucks were on a segment of 60 minutes. Then they would let us look through the window, you know the bullit proof window, and what we saw you wouldn't see in any other truck. Lots of comm gear.

My crew had to secure the shipment and we had to follow a checklist and do it perfect. The inside was only about 5 feet across and we were always leery of what might activate while we were inside. Enough said, if you want you can PM me and I tell you the bases I was at.
