Kinda Wierd??

OK so you'll have to forgive me if I'm way off base here as i haven't had but one other drug screen in my life......But this collection method seem really unprofessional??? OK Today at school we had to take the DOT physical and drug screen. The physical was kinda normal but the drug screen seemed to be conducted kinda haphazardly IMO. We were asked to pee in a cup and told to set said cup on a shelf in a office were at least 35 people had access to it(not saying that anyone would have tampered with them but if they wanted to they had ample time).....I then returned to class and two or more hours later the doc arrived and he poured said sample into the little vials and sealed them up..... Now I'm not really sure if this is standard practice or not but this all seemed really weird to me...........Am i a nut or does this seem unprofessional?

You're right, it's not professional. Unfortunatly, it's just how it is. These trucking companies have the mentality of: get 'em here, get ' em processed, and get 'em out.

not professional

Never heard of it being done like that not professional at all. It is suppose to be done with a nurse or attendent in the room with you. You must wash your hands thouroughly (with nurses supervision) before the pee test and again afterwards. The nurse or attendent then pours it into vials seals them and has you initial each vial. It is to ensure the test is valid.

Sounds like this is the best advice! If that's not how it goes down you should at that moment disagree or I am not sure of how the later goes if you flunk. I would definately discuss it with someone you are comfortable with doing so
