That ticket is 3 years old in 2 months I left that out. Is Swift even still around? I heard talk of them going out of business or something

They're still around. Not sure about their school, but they are still running.

With that ticket off there, I guess it's an open field, except for the stupid felony I have. What companies do you know of that would take someone with a felony 3 and good driving record?

Hey Opi, i just recieved letters from werner and swift in the mail this morning, and both were pre-approved employment letters from both companies, i informed them both that i had a speeding ticket back in Nov of 05 for doing 85 in a 65, 20 over the posted limit, they said that it was iffy about me getting in, they had to send my app to the hirring comitty, where Werner and their Insurence companies would discuss my sittuation. after all was said an done, they hired me, dont no if im going there, i might tho. i might not have a choice with the ticket following me everywhere i go...
i heard from school that werner turned down a student that did 21 mph over the posted limit, however, his was in the past 8 months sometime. with your ticket being back ALMOST 3 years ago, i would stick it out at school, and then when u graduate, you said it will be off ur record, call them, Email me, ill give u Tara's #, a reqruit for werner, really nice peson, and willing to help.. i no i no, arnt all reqruits really nice and willing to help... ha. anyway, keep looking man, there's still hope out there, all these other guys/ladies that here telling u that McD's or Dominos is looking good are cold blooded people that are here to waste time, and mess around, and not be the pro's and supporters that WE as new drivers need.
i think of the things they say as putting someone down. such as yourself, and allowing yourself no-hope, its just wrong to me for them to be doing that.
and go send ur son a text mess telling him how proud you are of him, thats great, does he flip burgers, or doese he preform open heart surgrey, either way buddy, most parents are proud of there kids, unless the screw ups in life and cought up on drinking and drugs, my dad/mom/sisters/brother/autns/uncle/neice/nephew/grandparentS/in-laws/friends/cousins/school mates/co-workers and so on are people that are rpude of me for going to school and finishing, and they are all people that i am proude of, maybe you never had a bad past, and you have to put it out here like you have " The Perfect Family " with son who is every succesful, good for you, but to post in the w.w.w is a hint to me that your son failed at some point in his life, and made a big comeback, which is great if thats the case, or if he's still a young kid, and does really good in school, and sport and so on, great good for you, give opi some possitive here people, so far out of all the post iv read, i have not seen very many Pro Drivers out here representig the trucking industry, maybe your the ones that give Truckers the bad appearence, they one that give the good apperence to the Truckers Of America are the ones that are out EVERY DAY WORKING AND DONT HAVE THE TIME TO WASTE CAUSE THERE WORKING.
just my imput
________im saddend at the lack of respect here on this forum.
As for the school, seriously people, evryone knows that scools like this have reqruits that lie, and make it all sound good and dandy and that his/my past wont reflect on our graduation time and on, CAUSE THEY BRING STUDENTS IN AND MAKE CLOSE TO $9,000 FOR EACH STUDENT....

Nope, sorry. We (for the most part) are old PROS that don't take safety lightly and are highly suspicious of someone who is in need of making excuses. BAD drivers don't need "supporters", they need a good old fashioned dose of reality.

Reality here is NOT everyone is cut from the right cloth. Not EVERYONE has what it takes to be a truck driver.

Wouldn't reality be more "positive" than the stroke job you're asking for?

As a "student", did you come up with this yourself? Again, as a "student", what exactly do you know about trucking? We aren't talking about BJ and the Bear or Smokey and the Bandit, here. If you don't think that truckers aren't a cut-throat bunch that will turn on you at the slightest sign of weakness, you haven't been around long enough.

.....so, if a driver isn't driving 24 hours a day, they are wasting their time?? Perhaps you are wasting YOUR time and would be better suited in Management or Dispatch, with an attitude like that.

You have to EARN "respect" in the REAL world.

Opi, to some degree, but ESPECIALLY Soon2betrucking -----

If you're finding that reality is causing you pain --- consider that SOMEtimes, the truth hurts.
As well it should.
SOMEtimes, that's the ONLY way to get someone to pay attention and get their head outta the clouds.

Roadkill offers words of wisdom that one would be wise to heed. Sage advice is worth it's weight in gold. Good reputations and respect aren't easily achieved and shouldn't be granted just because it'll make you feel better about yourself. What's the incentive in that?

If I were you, I'd refrain from passing judgment about things and folks you know little to nothing about. Until you've actually been there -- done that, what you personally think is worthless.
Perhaps an attitude adjustment is in order.

Until then, your ignorance is speaking volumes.

Think twice, speak once.
And learn to LISTEN for correct responses.
Separate the bovine excrement from the facts.
Those who constantly run their mouth about things they don't understand rarely learn a thing.

Can you hear me now?
