Hiring chances?

I am in Canada but I figure standards are fairly universal when it comes to hiring practises in the industry.

About a little less than a year ago, I received a speeding ticket for going 70 kilometres in a 50 kilometre per hour zone. This ticket was courtesy of the Saskatoon city police and my own stupidity. Being a courier, I was rushing when I shouldn't have been.

About a year and a half ago, I had an at fault accident. technically I could have successfully claimed to not have been at fault because the driver i hit was entering private parking lot as I was exiting but the accident happened because i wasn't paying attention and I could have prevented it if I hadn't been letting road rage get the best of me. I wasn't going to push the issue and try to screw some one else's driving record because I couldn't own up to my own mistake.

So with these two incidents on my driver's abstract, do you think a company would pass me by in terms of hiring? Yes my driving habits have changed dramatically since these two infractions but that won't matter to a company. Anyone can say they have changed.

Cheers

I converted your Kil to MPH
44MPH your speed
31 MPH speed limit
13 MPH over the speed limit.

Not a major, major in America would be 15 mph over (although over 10MPH is looked at seriously)

Probably would try to hire an attorney and have them remove the ticket from your record (expunged)

accident should not really be an issue, usually aloud 1 in 3 years as long as it wasn't a serious one.. (usually determined on a case by case bases)

Honestly the ticket may give you some trouble but you should be able to find a job.. I would have that ticket removed if possible..

I hadn't really even thought of having the ticket expunged but yah that could be an option. I guess I maintain a mentality of taking onus for traffic infractions no matter if it'll cost me or what (I will pay a parking ticket or whatnot without contesting it 9 times out of 10 unless I think i wasn't in the wrong) so the thought of expunging the ticket from my record hadn't even occurred to me.

Many thanks jo.

Cheers
