starting school 4/15 what next?

I will be starting school for my cdl in 4/08. This is a carreer change for me and with the economy slow I hope to come out of this making a decent living. I live in maryland and wonder if this area of the country is better or worse for a new driver. I would prefer to be home often but will do what it takes. I have read some threads that suggest options for new guys and that experience is the key. Any advise would be great. thanks!

I agree... in my experience the freight is better on the east coast so far this year than the west coast.
