Are there any companies out there that will hire those with criminal records. Most that I've dealt with have blanket policies or advertise that they do until you contact them and find out that they don't. I'm a recent CDL grad with no otr experience. I passed my TSA background check and am about to get my hazmat & tanker endorsement. I'm certified in defensive driving, registered with Homeland Security's Highway Watch Program, and my MVR & DAC are clean. It's getting very frustrating gettin told "no" everyday.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

I dont know what your criminal background is but it sounds like your in the same boat Im in. Going up S**T creek with half an oar.
I have a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge on my record that I got back in 2004 and other than that I have no other criminal background and I also have very good driving record but that misdemeanor is causing me alot of trouble and keeping me out of alot of good companies.
Most of the major carriers out there will tell you that their insurance wont touch you. Sometimes they wont touch you EVER and some want you to have the charges 5-7 years behind you.
I have been told that if I could get a local job and get some experience behind the wheel that the misdemeanor charge starts looking a little less important. Not sure but thats just what I have heard.

Have you tried PantherII? When my husband and I first started driving with PantherII we were in orientation, during the class the instructor asked the classroom "who in here has a criminal record?". Unbelieveably most of the class raised their hands. There was a young girl, probably in her early 20's and even she raised her hand. Needless to say my husband and I were very surprised. (kinda like, Oh my, what have we got ourselves into. lol). Also I know they do because with Panther the drivers with criminal records cannot go into Canada so those of us without criminal records have to transport their loads across the border from the Romulus cross docks in Michigan.

Arrow is pretty forgiving with hiring those with criminal backgrounds.

I have an app in with Arrow but I seen some where on here that Arrow has been doing some downsizing which would explain, maybe, why I havent heard anything from them or maybe its just the misdemeanor, I dont know. I just need someone to give me a chance when I get out of school.

I was 17 when I got a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge but they said it was going to be expunged from my record but I don't know. That was 7-8 year's ago so I don't really think that is hurting me, I think my work history is my problem. That's ok, I'm fixing to hit it up with Prime and see what I can't work out. Good luck bud.

Since you were a minor back then it probably is not showing up ur record but each state is different I guess.
It sure is causing me alot of trouble. I guess I will have to start making person to person visits on getting a job since I cant leave an impression with an online app ( except the impression of a pot head). Im beginning to think going to CDL school is being a big waste of time if no one wants to give me a job. This S**ks.

I think I found your math problem.

Your profile says you are 22, that would mean that you were 17 five years ago, not 7-8. Yep, I guess I can see why you had problems with that math test.
