USA Briefcase for truckers?

Do they make briefcases specifically for truckers?

I'm not a trucker - my stepson is - so if this question sounds goofy I guess the shoe fits.

Anyway, my stepson is tired of using a duffle bag for his log book and other stuff that you guys (and gals) need to carry around with you.

Are there any retail websites that sell cool briefcases for truckers?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Soft side briefcase

I don't know if they make briefcases specifically for trucker drivers but somewhere as simple as Office Depot has probably 40 different styles to choose from...... I would personally recommend the soft kind..... nice black leather with a short and a long strap.........

.....the hard ones feel like you are lugging a suitcase around.

If you go online you will probably have 100's of styles to choose from....... just find out what he carries in addition to his log book...... laptop?.... clipboard/flipboard...... book.... game system....... then find a case that has a good place for each of his items........

just my two cents

In the olden days, drivers used a roller-skate case that was covered with metal; and when open, it was deep enough to prevent anything from falling out in a rough riding truck.

When I drove long-haul and as an owner-operator, I used a Samsonite that measures 12x17 and is 5" deep. This is larger than a brief case, will not tear like leather, and is smaller than a suitcase. For drivers who slip-seat, there is room for gloves, flashlight, a few hand tools, and an aluminum log-book clipboard. Now that I have retired, I use my Samsonite to accumulate documents for my dad's Medicaid application. The brief case he used in his law practice turned out to be too small.

Ok - I'm not a driver. yet.

However, I've found that I'm really happy with what I call a "Captain's Case". It's about 14 inches long and tall, and about 6 inches deep. It has an extendable handle and wheels, in case I get lazy.

There's room in it for my laptop (and its bits and pieces), my metal clipboard with log book(s), my gloves, some tools, a ruler, a calculator, some note pads, an atlas, my sunglasses and a few snacks. Oh - and my digital camera, and my palm pilot.

There are pockets on the ends - in one I keep my DOT book, in the other I keep my ERG (Emergency Response Guide) book

I wear my flashlight on my keychain, so that's not a problem.

I got tweaked by my classmates for taking this thing with me every time I got in a truck... but I used the time to refine what I was putting in it. I probably have more refining to do, but I'm a dozen steps ahead of them!

The only down side is, I've been using this case for years, and it's starting to ... um... deteriorate a bit. I need a new one, and new, they're about $120. So, a new on is going to wait until my 4th or 5th paycheck.

Assuming I ever get one, of course.

breif case

I carry a breif case with me all the time! I'm at home right now and it's on the couch next to me. It carrys my laptop, company paperwork, and various odds and ends.(more odds than ends). They are great. Mines leather and I got it at a discount leather shop in newport oregon last summer while on vacation last summer for 20.00. Matter of fact everything in the store was$ 20.00. motorcycle jackets, belts, all of it. Look around there are lots of different bags and cases out there, most truck stops have breifcases on sale, used one for several years until I got this one.
