USA Bought a Truck for private use

I have some mountain property to build on, but companies will not deliver (lumber, rock, block, etc.) to it because the road is quite steep. I thought I would solve the problem by buying my own truck. I got a single axel Freightliner 22’ flatbed with a dump. The truck doesn’t seem large enough to be commercial, but it is rated at 33000 lbs gross which is considered Commercial in Arizona and requires a CDL etc. I am a little confused about what needs to be done to drive it legally.
1) It has a USDOT # on the doors. One person I called at Arizona DOT said that I should cover it up since it will only be used for my personal hauling. Yet I read in this forum about someone that got pulled over because the officer could not see his USDOT #. What should I do?
2) Is there a requirement to have it safety inspected?
3) Do I need any type of permit other than normal MVD registration?
4) Am I required to keep a log book?
5) Do I have to do anything special if I want to drive it to another state?
6) What is the penalty if I get caught driving it before I get a CDL?
7) Would it be better if it was considered a Farm truck
Hopefully some of you real Truckers know about this. Thanks!

if this is your personal vehicle and you are not going to use it to make money or to get paid for moving/delivering loads for others it is a private vehicle just like an RV. You should be able to drive it without a CDL. But make sure with your state DMV.

Get rid of the DOT number and put "Not For Hire" on the side for starters, then find out from your DOT if you need a CDL to drive it.
