Prepass - Pikepass OK toll mixup.

Ok I'm a new driver and I think I goofed. I was in a hurry getting from Oklahoma City to Tulsa and took the Turner Turnpike. For the past few weeks I've cruised through turnpikes with a blue Prepass/EZpass box that came with my truck.

I figured at first this was the same system but had second thoughts. I asked some people where I delivered and they said it's white box not a blue one.

So yeah I think I'm in Toll violation. Should I notify my dispatcher and let my carrier(PAM) deal with it? Or talk to them directly? Tomorrow I go back the other way on Turner Tpke again. Can I just pay the extra toll at the booth and get a receipt?

I would suggest you contact PAM immediately. They'll be receiving a ticket in the mail.

Also, I hope you now know that EZ-Pass only works on the east coast and in Illinois. Florida and Kansas also have their own pre pass system like Oklahoma.

Called them and they said to call back in the morning when the daytime dispatcher is there.

I'm glad you reported it. I'd hate to see ya lose your job over something like this. PAM's a good company. At least, they were to me. I'm surprised your trainer didn't let you know that OK uses a different toll pass system.

I also sent an email to Pikepass asking how I can pay it. Hopefully I just have to pay a late fee in addition to the toll.

Hopefully they'll see this for what it is, a misinformed mistake, and not for some driver trying to play dumb. If they see it for what it is, I'm sure they'll just ask for the toll money. If they don't, well you might be looking at some heavy fines.

It should be taken care of. A Pikepass authority person I talked to on the phone said this is a common mistake. When this happens people get 5 days to straighten it out.

The next day I was going back the other way so I paid it in person at a Pike Authority office and I have a receipt. I got taken care of with no fines or ticket.

I also typed up what happened on Qualcom and sent it to PAM. They shouln'd get any notices in the mail but I'm covering my ### in case they do.
