Rather, they're picky. And it shows in the quality of their finished product --- a better Big truck truck driver. Schneider doesn't have to take the bottom of the barrel applicants, and they don't. Those who don't make the grade are usually the ones who complain the most and loudest. Go figure. Why shoot for an easier company instead of the better companies? It makes more sense to me to shoot for the top and receive BETTER training. Why seek the easy way when the BETTER way will make YOU a better driver? IMO, you'll learn MORE at a better company in 6 months than you will with a bottom-feeder company in a year -- or how ever long you can stand the abuse. When it comes to learning the worst of what Big truck truckin' has to offer, the bottom-feeders do that VERY well, and their turn-over rate bares that out. If NONE of the better companies will hire you, or agree to train you, perhaps that should be a wake-up call. HaiL! Put 20 years into a military career and retire with a pension. And THEN go Big truck truckin'. I'm sure Big trucks will still be around. And the pension check and other perks will ease a LOT of tension(s). ![]() |

| I agree with aftershock. I can think of several reasons to join the military instead of going truck driving. 1. insurance (your family is covered at day one of active duty at no cost to you) 2. money (on average, you will make 500 dollars a week truck driving) I believe you make less money but everything you need to succeed in military is provided to you, not so for trucking. 3. Support network. I feel like im out here fumbling in the dirt sometimes but there are people to help and people who understand that lifestyle better in the military. 4. If you think trucking is the best option to stay in contact with your family... well, it's a tossup. Sure, you may get to see them for 4 days a month, but the quality of time isn't much to speak of. 5. If you chose to stay on land by joining the army, you could apply for base housing and have the family with you. (and the army lets you choose your MOS) I didn't do 20 years, but everyone should experience it. |

| That's the company I started with and have nothing bad to say about their training.. Top notch in my opinion, As I always say its up to you on how much you get from Sni.. Another words Sni does offer everything you need to become a well trained and well prepared truck driver, It's up to "YOU" to make that happen... Stay away from the people in the class who are just there to get threw, seek out the people who want to become good drivers in the hotel.. not hard to find because they always are looking at the books while the others are out walking around or watching TV.. |
