Which Training Companies Run to Maine

Hello Folks,
Just got my CDL. I need training and know who the training companies are, just wondered if any one knew which one's did a lot of business in Maine?
I know that many companies don't even hire out of here due to the fact that it would be hard to get drivers home for time off. When you think about it, Maine isn't really on the way to anywhere!
We do however have Poland Springs water up here.
Swift and Werner are not options.
Any advice besides MOVE would be a help.

since you know who the training companies are... you could look on the internet and see if they have any terminals near you in maine.

just a thought.

Hey Kille11,
Did you find a driving job yet? I called Schneider, they said they have all the student drivers from Maine the need at the moment. Western Express is not taking any new students at all. Roehl and Wolding don't come this far North any more since most of the paper mills they did business with are gone. Swift doesn't hire out of this area. Werner is interested but I was hoping for a better place to start. Have you heard about any others?

Hey good to hear from you thought this post was dead. I have not even gone to school yet, i have a appointment with the career center tomarow they forgot about me after they said i got in lol. But i called crete and they said they do not support any schools out here go get 6 months. With the turn over rate the way it is i would say wait a couple weeks and try schneider again. I would run from werner as fast and as far as possible, Id go swift long before werner Would you be willing to long bed, tmc is hiring, also prime, D M bowman might hire in maine. conway heck they have a station right in sydney though im not sure how far away from waterville you are. I hear pepsi is hiring like crazy at the moment mostly down in portland. oh walkins shepherd hires around here to i believe. Though to tell you the trueth I would i am going to toss a application at crete and other anyone, one guy saying somthing might not know all the new info and the one who sees the app might. So good luck and keep us posted,

Killie11,
Where are you going to school? Bangor or Scarborough? Days or week ends?
I think you will find most of the local companies require a year of experience,
thats why I'm looking for an OTR company that is a training company and hires out of Maine.

yeah i know but even local companys can feel the shortage. If you find the one that is desperate enough for workers they will start looking at students. I am unsure of where ill be going to school yet i hope to find out tomarow though the bangor is not supported one in portland is, and one other.
