cali or north carolina

Thinking about relocating to North Carolina
and was wondering if I should get my cdl and take a course in califorina
or wait till I get to North Carolina
If I take it here am I going to transferr any lic or paperwork to NC?

From what I know about it is that you will need to go to the license branch proving that you are a resident of the new state.. Then all you will need to do is take the written tests again and pay the fee's, you would not need to take the driving test again.... That's all I know but it could very in a few states...

when i moved to vegas from CT. all i had to do was pay a fee to transfer my lic. over and then take the hazmat test every 2 yrs. i gave up the hazmat after a while of not driving. you should call nc. and ask what is required.
