Watkin Shephard Info?

Hello. I am looking to get my CDL and was looking at several options. One of which is Watkin Shepard. I tried to do some research on them but there seems to be little out there or I am just not looking in the right places. Can anyone give some information on this company and if the training program is worth it, and if they are on the up and up. Trustworthy. Any kind of help will be welcomed. I am out of SLC, UT so I would be traing here and the terminal is here as well. thanks.

I'm going to be the stick in the mud here.

In all fairness, W&S is having some issues with freight in the 11 state western regional. Who isn't ? A simple post in the O/O forum will clarify this even further. Just ask an O/O what he thinks about running any of the west coast states...locals excluded.

And many of the drivers are talking about low miles, and small pay checks rightfully so. BUT... these same drivers will be the ones who are smiling all the way to the bank, and bitchin about not being able to get to the house, when it picks back up. And it eventually will.

While it may seem kind of crazy. W&S is expanding....not cutting back like many companies. And I have yet to be questioned about my idle times, or fuel economy.

I had heard they were putting APUs on every truck and then setting the computer to shut down at 5 mins of idle time.

Well I hope things pick up for the West Coast, since that is where I plan on driving. I can't imagine a trucking company would set idle times at 5 mins then shut down. That seems kind of unsafe in so many ways.. But who knows. That is something I will ask when I call them. I will let you all know.
