I got a call a few minutes ago from another driver that went in ahead of me. He told me there is a 12ft bridge on the route the customer provided. He gave me the route he took. I owe this guy.

Well, I made it and didn't hit anything. Go me. I was surprised to find a majority of the drivers were fairly courteous. I only had one problem with some popped-collar douche bag in an Escalade.

I was trying to make a really tight turn where somebody parked to close to the corner. I had to keep pulling forward and backing up to create more of an angle and "drag" my trailer around the corner. You know what I mean? Well, the guy pulled right up to my front bumper and every time I'd back up, he'd get closer until I had no room to pull forward anymore. So he's sitting there with this smug grin on his face so I set my breaks and gave him the "what now?" shrug. Apparently he was in more of hurry than me because he eventually flipped me the bird, backed up and turned around. I was a little disappointed; I wanted to try out the attitude adjustment feature on my winch bar.

Other than that, it was a good experience.

So you didnt have to dodge any bullets? Last I was in Chicago, I swear I went right through a bad movie scene to get to the customer. It was 1am and there were 10 stop signs. Guess how many I stopped at?
Anywho, glad you made it out un-scathed!

Chicago really isn't that bad. Now if you want to have some real fun come run with me through the Bronx for a few days.:biggrin_25515:

Chicago day-time isn't the same as Chicago night-time. Setting the brakes usually works--I've yet to see a 4-wheeler push a truck out of the way.

Seems chicago has changed since I last lived there. Hardly surprising- it's been.. a few years.

Used to live on the south side- pretty grubby neighborhood (what do you expect from a nerd-boy college student, the Ritz?).Never had a problem, even though I stood out in the neighborhood like a spotlight in a darkroom.

Except that one time on the El... but that wasn't no problem after I stabbed his foot with my umbrella.
