Physical requirements

Just a little curious about different company physical requirements.
I have read on here where "some in training" indicated they had to lift "x" number of pounds.
Do ALL the company programs require that?
Been a long time since I was last in a truck but never had anyone, at that time, give me a "lifting" test.
Thanks for any ACCURATE info you might provide as to which company requires what.

I have seen that as well, but I don't think it's really common. My company just requires you to pass the DOT physical.

ditto - it's gonna vary by company - and possibly by state requirements

If somebody...

It's been a long time, but I seem to remember a few companies I looked into used the "workwell" test. I just guugled their site real quick, but found no reference to trucking. Maybe someone can flesh it out?

Most, if not all of the majors will require a lift test. Their Insurance wants to know you aren't about to take them for a ride through our fine legal system, for a previous injury.

Well seeing the Schneider video showing some of the tests they will do in first day of training, some of the truckers that have come thru the fuel desk at the t/s i work at, i would highly doubt any of them could do a proper 'walk around', and lift and carry heavy boxes like the video shows. I am not saying i am in perfect shape, but i know i have ALOT smaller gut than some of these guys.
