Why hasn't Schneider called back????!!!!

Husband applied for Schneider Bulk Division two weeks ago..still no call. He already has his haz and tanker endorsement(thought that would help) and no points off or no violation on driving record. Is he too old or something..he's only 46. He's really interested in driving tanker and hazmat but he'll drive whatever to get his CDL A. He has a year of driving a school bus he didn't like it much!! What should I do to help he's getting discouraged!!We're open to anything..he just needs a company that will provide training...Thanks Thinking about applying to Swift

Did you consider calling them?

The big trainee companies are all cutting back from what I've heard and aren't hiring as many trainees as they once did.

But, give them a call so you can get off the dime and you'll know one way or another.

Swift is just as good as Schneider or any other trainee company. They all haul the same freight for the same people for the same rates so it really does not matter so long as they let him get his experience so he can move up.

Schneider has not called back because God has blessed you . Seriously , tanker is a good thing to get into and only Schneider will hire drivers with no experience for tanker . Age doesn't matter . Schneider has a program with AARP and uses them to recruit drivers .

Oh boy, oh boy, dont say you are looking at going to Swift, or you'll never hear the end of it. You will be told you are a moron or you are just plain wrong.

But anyways, I am headed to Swift, because out of the 4-5 trucking companies I applied with, only Swift called back. Another wanted you to already have put yourself thru a CDL school, another wanted you to live within 100 miles of a training center, and another wants you to come with a CDL permit already. I am sure some have ran a credit check on me (why my credit is a concern when I just want to go thru class, and drive a truck) Or maybe because Schneider wants you to have a perfect driving record for the past 200 years, without so much as a parking ticket.

Just do what I am going to do. Just get on somewhere, get your CDL work there for a year, then find a better paying job driving. Training dont begin till you're on the road anyways.

Here's a tip you might consider...Don't tell the recruiter 'I'm only gonna work here 6 months to a year, then I'm gonna get a good job.' Just a hunch?
