cb cowboys

I was surprised the other day when another trucker got on the cb saying that I was going to slow. I was in Ohio and the speed limit was 55. I know that Ohio is known for giving out plenty of tickets. I was going 58 on cruise control. This trucker behind me starting saying that I was in the way, that I needed to share the road. If you dont like how fast I am going, pass me. I have a ticket free license and want to keep it that way.

Amen! That's about all you hear on the CB anymore! Hate, bad attitudes, and bickering - it's ridiculous.

Yeah, this driver had his cb off, too. He had a tire on fire already going down the road. Drivers were SCREAMING to him to give warning and even pulled up next to him to try to get his attention. By the time he figured out he had a drive tire fire, it was too late!!!! Complete loss of load and equipment. Nice.

I keep my volume down but if someone started calling out the name of my company on the cb, I'd hear it. Too much can go wrong and I always appreciate the help of my fellow drivers that are willing to give it.

Was this on the freeway, or on a 2-lane?

If there was a passing lane I would have slowed down more so the jerk in question would finally use it and go away.

Reminds me of my travels on I80 up here in WY. One time this spring a guy in a Pete was suddenly on my rear and yelling at me to get out of the way, so I slow down and let him take the left lane...only to see him on the shoulder about five minutes later...and then he passes me about five minutes after that...jeeze.

I don't usually use the CB...mainly because I have the squelch up quite a bit due to some bad connection somewhere...the stupid thing keeps ...squalking or whatever at me, short blips here and there, drives me nuts.

Anywho...I usually use it now off and on and during the winter when the roads are closed. When the roads were closed one time, they were shut down for about 24 hours...and we all got back on at the same time (seriously must have been hundreds of trucks) and people were on the CB..."Left lane is the hammer lane! get out of the hammer lane you #####'s.....etc. Well the road just barely opened, but that doesnt mean its safe to run 80mph on! Fine with me...I dont mind racing with the sloths in the granny lane if that gets me home safely during Hell Freezing Over Week.

*...lol it put in ######'s? I put in a bunch of various symbols like the cartoons! Sneaky system! Big Brother!
