To be a long time OTR driver, you pretty much have to be a loner. That is one of the reasons turnover rates are so high.

It's interesting -- I have this wide circle of friends with whom I socialize on a regular basis. But I'm usually more of a listener than a talker and very content to be left in my own company... and in fact, I NEED time -- often a considerable amount of time -- to just reflect on the world around me. When I am continually surrounded by people, I get very weary and tired... frustrated with the hubbub... and sometimes have trouble shutting down my mind at the end of the day.

So in many ways, I guess I'm somewhat of a loner. It's not because I do not have friends, but I think I just see the world somewhat differently than many.

To keep your sanity..........you have to have a good degree of loner-ism in your blood.
Or you could go run teams............LMAO.....

Or the other option.......glue a bluetooth to your ear........

Just a thought............

I am definately a loner. I've always been one to keep to myself. I have to travel into cities and can never fathom why anyone can live in any of them.
I have my wife, my family, that I talk to. Other than that, I have no one that I really think of as friends. I don't have anything against people per se, It just seems that most people I see these days don't measure up to the close friends I left in foreign fields.
The "me first" attitudes and the "I have money so I'm better than you" attitudes sicken me to my core. So I'd rather just be alone thank you. I'm comfortable with me.

I have consulted with the voices in my head and we all concur. We are perfectly happy being by ourselves.

People tend to get on my nerves and I would rather be on my own anyway. Nobody to stab you in the back that way.
