In Cali looking for a company that will let me Drive my truck Home!!!

I was gonna go with May Trucking but they wont let me take my Truck home when I get home time,Im thinking I live about 5 to 6 hours away from the Drop Yard, so thats half a day lost getting Home and Half a Day lost going back to the Yard, I mean I respect that about there fuel costs, They said I could leave my car in the Yard, but Im still thinking Duh for 4 weeks maybe nahhhh!!!! or fly home then Im loosing bucks when I go home then maybe Im ending up making then no more than 19 cents a mile
Well I live in Hayward California its about 40 miles east of I 5 or 120 miles south west of Sacramento or 420 miles north west of LA,
thanks
Ken

living in hayward, you're gonna run into problems trying to park on the street anyways, local ordinances are kinda strict, yes? you should look at gordon too, i did 5 years with them. they had a terminal in turlock (may have moved to modesto) they used to run quite a few day cabs in and out of the bay area. that yard isn't too far from you either.

i escaped from the bay area 13 years ago, got too crowded for me.

good luck

Gordon

well I can forget them, cuz they didn't approve My CDL School ! its funny cuz they are accredited driving school by the State For Rehab, though that doesn't apply to me,funny thing though, down the street is another school, its a Dirt yard with one truck and one Trailer and the office is a camper, they have a Link on there website to Gordon as Job Placement. So I know a few that run out of stockton and modesto at least a drop yard,we shall see.

If you was able to be approved you can make arangments with your driver manager to park at a local truckstop in your area.
I did and I worked for May Trucking I was 50-55 miles from their drop yard now a terminal.

Being a student just starting out you will have to make a few concessions to show the industry that you can be trusted driving their trucks and taking them home. My company does not allow drivers to take their trucks home until they have been driving for 6 months.

Once you get pass the 1 year experience level without taking out a row of cars, trucks, trailers, buildings, stop signs, light poles, oh and not to forget the mighty mailboxes...............you will be able to pick and choose who you want to work for ............

Good luck..............
