What would keep you from obtaining a CDL?DOT? license? Bad record, out standing tickets?

Multiple moving violations within the last 3-5 years. Two DUI's ever will keep you out of some companies, more than that, don't count on ever getting hired. Certain felonies. If you go to the FMCSA website or even your state DMV, you should be able to find some info on that stuff.

A missed parking ticket once you get it cleared up wouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you get it cleared up!

none of that will keep you from getting your CDL, you know. it might make you ineligible for a job at some company, but getting the CDL is almost like finding the prize in the Cracker Jack

It is a very good idea to figure out if companies will hire you with your record, before going through the expense and work to get the license. Even if you get your record legally expunged, it will be hidden from government websites, but private companies already have the information, and they can show it onlline forever. So, an employer that does a pre-employement backround check will see your entire record, even if you had it expunged.

I believe that if the record is sealed or expunged, nobody is allowed access to it with the exception of the government. Anyone that releases the info on the sealed/expunged record can be charged with a misdemeanor.

I have a question here for some of you drivers. I've been OTR with another experienced driver for about 4 weeks now and we got to talking about my younger brother. He has a one felony for Distribution Of Obscene Material. The felony was in 2003. It is a CSC offense, but he is not on the sex offenders list as he did not rape, touch, expose himself, or have possession of sexual material containing minors. It's the publication of pornography in a public place (basically). Otherwise than that hes got a clean record (no DUI's, traffic incidents, or anything). He's also got his BBA with awards.

I was talking to my mentor driver and he said he shouldn't have a problem getting a endorsements because that felony is not listed on the restrictions list for hazmat or other endorsements. Getting hired...he said that it is based on the company that he is applying for. I agreed, but I'm reluctant to tell my younger brother to go for his CDL. I'm completely lost need some advice. I cant stall him forever...

When I Went to school I didn't know my felonie would hold me back from getting a job.So when I graduated from trucking school in 2006 I had to go into Class B..... Now that everything has cleared up My measley 3 months experience that I got in a broken down truck is not good enough anymore becuse it has to be recent experience...........I have a inlaw that is president of a big company that makes cheesesteaks etc. that I've never worked for will lie for me and say I drove a 53 footer for him but his company doesn't even own a truck.I'm not dropping more cash to go back to School to get hired I'VE Paid enough in my lifetime.....
