I think he's after a good driver's seat.

Me, I've never (in my oh so long experience) found a really good seat. The high-end seats I've seen for sale at truck stops, though, are more uncomfortable (for me) than the stock seats on my 379s were.

One thing I'd look for in a seat, personally, is a higher back. To get one tall enough, though, I'd probably have to go custom-built. Don't need an arm on the door side - the window sill is usually fine.

In fact, now that I think on that bit - having the seat centered on the steering wheel would be good. Being offset a couple inches is annoying

Lets all give this a big amen! AMEN!

I like both arm rests, air ride, floating platform, air lumbar, back and seat supports, fabric not vinyl. Back/forward tilt is nice, as well as adjustable back to seat.

This is all pretty much standard for your better OTR company trucks.

Anything but those bloody el dorado scissor seats. It's the only time I ever felt like a pretty young girl because something was grabbing my back side ever time I hit a bump.

Unlike Lurchgs, I like a seat with a slightly lower back in order to wear a hat with a brim and not bend the dickens out of it. Agree though, no door side arm rest is required.

Check out Bostrom seats(Google it)....

You can order just about any configuration. Short, tall, skinny, fat...

They can be ordered at any Freightshaker dealer, or at E-bay, reasonably priced....

Cheers

i would like to know, what features are for you personally important
see it a little bit like a market research

what features must a seat have, that you would buy it, or wont buy it

Thank You

I like a good seat with a parallel linkage, adjustable backrest and seat angle, with a good isolator that works. It needs both armrests to be easily adjustable and a breathable cover that is durable and comfortable. The Bostrom Wide Ride is a pretty good seat. It also has adjustable lumbar support.
