Hey Guy, like I was told to get the information that is out there on your record, just go to one of the many background check websites, pay the $30 or so dollars and obtain your own background check on yourself! It is pretty easy to do:biggrin_25515:

Hey you are right in the town I am in! One thing I would for sure do is to not get into any more "minor car accidents" that might hurt your ability to get a truck driving job. Are you in driving school right now?

Good luck to you man starting Saturday, the one piece of advice I would give you is to pay attention bigtime! Especially learning how to shift! You can do it if your positive and coordinated. I started school at end of 1997 and passed by driving school with a 97! Enjoyed it alot. My trainer used a cool analogy to tell me about trucking. He sd "remember the trailer is the boss, the truck is just the manager, if at any time the trailer "boss" would like to kick the mgr's a.. he can!"

    I thought that was great!

    Have a good day :biggrin_25515:

it should be an experiance to remember i have driven before but with out the cdl i quit before i got caught so hopefully i dont have any problems i am just worried about my two accidents wich are over two to three years old and my two or three misdeamenors but i will prabably be ok. yhe school is suppost to pull those records and i am going to see if thy will let me look at them and at least then i will know i will prabably get stuck at swift or wener for a while but i will stick it out and get the exp.

    Texas -

You are *probably* correct... odds are good that you'll have to spend time at Swift or one of the other large companies (but don't let that stop you from applying at any company you are interested in - you never know, the job fairy may swoop down and smack you in the head with his wand)

Both the misdemeanors and the accidents WILL be a factor, but as you know, if you can get on with somebody and keep your nose clean for a year or so, you should be able to move on to better jobs.

Here's the whole point behind it all. Answers the questions on the job application as they ask them. Don't volunteer any information they are not asking. They will ask if you've had any traffic convictions in the past three years or they might ask have you had any DUI's ever or in the past 10 years. The point is read the question and answer truthfully. The reason you'll want to do this is because you never know how they obtain your information and if you cover up any infractions and they find out your career is over. Lying on a job application is the worse thing you can do. You might be in school and almost done when they come to you and say you're finished and then you'll owe them alot of money for nothing. Besides, if they turn you down for your application then you just move on to another company. It's the smart thing to do.
