I think I'm done

First off, let me say it was bad judgment on my part.

I got lost back-roading in PA (routed over roads that no big truck should ever be on (PA453 and 153), but that's another topic for another day). Ended up taking a wrong turn down another road that a big truck shouldn't be on, and nudged a telephone pole with the trailer on the way out.

Just a nudge, no harm, no foul. Keep on truckin. Big mistake.

PA state police showed up at the drop, since there's only one place big trucks go around there, and wrote me up for failure to immediately report, failure to maintain a single lane, and failure to obey a weight-limit sign on the wrong-turn road. I never saw the sign but that's not important.

Got a call from my DSR today saying nice knowing ya, go clean out your truck and don't let the door hit you in the arse. Failure to report is a "minimum qualification offense" at my former company, so I'm out.

So here's the question. Since the PA police hit me with three offenses, is my driving career over? Will anyone take on a driver with 4 months experience and a failure-to-report conviction?

I'm pretty sure I screwed myself back there. Any advice would be helpful.

For the next few years I believe so... Sorry!

As minimal as it was you should have reported it... That's why you will have a hard time finding a job for the next few years.

The only thing I can tell you is to FIGHT all citations, If indeed convicted you can try companies like Swift, Werner, JB hunt, Cr England, Pam, or US Express.

Good luck and I'll put in a good word about you to the big guy upstairs tonight before I go to bed.

You may be able to find a really small company to work for or possibly even and owner operator. It will take 3 years for those tickets to come off your record for insurance puposes and 5 years before they come off your MVR. If the company you worked for reports to DAC-USIS then anyone who uses them will see it for a very long time. Good news is most small companies never check with them.

Bad news is jobs like that usually don't have any benefits that come with them.

Most states don't post things like that to your MVR til the end of the quarter.

    Good luck.

Both of those roads are legal roads according to the Truckers' Atlas, except for about 7 miles of 153 between Houtzdale and Smithmill.

True. I reckon the snow might be a foot deep up there now. But he doesn't say when this incident took place.
