| Live...... load/unload are terms that are fairly new in the industry. When your dispatcher tell you .........You'll be live loading # etc,etc, They are refering to .............You personally will be hitting the dock and loading.............as opposed to a drop and hook. If you need any more info along these lines.......just send me a PM and i'll be glad to help out Semper-Fi |

| Live unloads/loads is going to slowly become more and more common. I would guess in 20 years drop and hook will almost be a thing of the past. This is simply because of warehouse automation and the 24/7 way they will operate in the future. Trailers are going to have electronic tracking on them that the shipper/receiver will both use and paper bills will be a thing of the past. |
| |||
| I also see a future where there will be a large pool of trailers that trucking companies share like the railroads share train cars now. Relays will be a bigger part of trucking in the future. (man iam good) |

As far as more efficient trucks...........We've made huge steps in just the last 5-7 years right here in this country. |

| It dont take much of a brain to become a truck driver. Anyone with a 3rd grade education can drive a truck. Whens the last time youve seen a company require a h.s.diploma to drive for them? |

| live unload or what? Just remember, if you've got it, a truck brought it. The problem is a few bad apples (unprofessionals) make it bad for the rest of us. Instead of insulting our profession by assuming all of us out here have third-grade education, you need to GREATLY appreciate the service truckers do for this country. The majority of us deliver freight from point a to b SAFELY in all kinds of weather and terrain. Truck accidents have declined in recent years despite all the IDIOT 4-wheelers that are out there. Would you want somebody with a third grade skill driving an 80,000lb truck on the same road your family's on?? Are you a truck driver or some antitrucker 4-wheeler that has issues with trucks? If you are a driver stop insulting your profession and try to start a union for HIGHER pay and better working conditions. That's what we really deserve for the job we do. Not more ######## regulations,on-board recorders,split speeds, wasted dock time,parking shortage, and other nonsense. If you are a 4-wheeler,stop insulting us and be thankful that truckers are still out there on the road delivering your toilet paper for you to wipe your ### with. |
