I have a real newbie question!!
Regarding log books - Say I start off in California at 8 AM... I drive to the next time zone and in California it would be 2 PM. However, my current location is showing 3 PM (an hour difference) - How does that work with logs?
Do they make you lose the hour and count it towards daily totals? Or do you just put what time zone you started with, and the next day start with the new time zone?
I just want to see if in the example I would show California time (pacific) zone of a total of 6 hours, or would my logs have to show them combined and I would put down 7 hours even though I've only worked for 6?
Log books and time changes - How does it work?

Your logbook stays on whatever time zone your home terminal is.
jasondt2001 Thanks this. -
Great, thanks for the info!! That sure makes it a lot easier on me when the time comes!

Whatever you do, don't use your cellphone as a watch. The time changes on it as you cross time zones. I kept a cheap watch set on my home terminal time. You can't go wrong that way unless the battery dies.

Thanks Rookie! That was my first thought when i thought when I started thinking about something to keep time! I'll buy a analog watch and paste it to my log books LOL

We have Blackberries that replaced Qualcomms . The time on the Blackberry remains on the home terminal time . My cell phone has messed me up a couple of times . I work in the CST zone and if return from the EST zone it won't reset to CST unless I shut it down .

get a watch and set it to your terminal time and always use that to log by dont care where your at.
Second thing use a phone for your local dev time as most companies the dev time is on the receivers local time not your company
