Are there any companies that don't exactly follow up on previous employers? I have a spotless driving record but I not so great history with my previous employers. I'd like to try and get hired by a company that let's me work for them for a year in order to pay for my CDL training course.

I was with my most recent employer for the last 3 years 8 months, I will be laid off on Monday, they have filed for bankruptcy and will be out of business.. so, What if your recent former employer has just gone out of business?...How can a trucking company verify employment, and with whom can they speak to?

Thank you Rick, I already have stubs & W-2s, but figured they also wanted verification from the company(ie. speaking to HR, or receiving a letter fom the company)....as it is very easy to forge w-2s & stubs, or anything for that matter.
