CLEAN MVR

Hi

Ok...

What CLEAN MVR really means:

A. No DUI, accidents, hits-and-runs etc. or

B. No speeding, "stop sign", "red lights" tickets and other 'minor' violations

???

ps. My potential employer asks for a clean mvr. I have 1 speeding ticket (two points) and 1 stop sign ticket ( one point),both from two years ago, which are paid for. And I worry that this disqualifies me from getting a driving job. Even if an attorney could wipe the points for tickets out from my record, I think the entries themselves of those tickets would still be left on the record. So If I would to show this 'cleaned' by a lawyer mvr I think it would still be considered to be non-clean.

Or am I wrong?

Thanks a lot

Typically, a "clean" MVR means that there are no convictions for violations of any traffic citation on the report. If you have convictions within the period that the employer requires to be "clean", then you probably do not meet the requirements that they have.

However, because one person's version of a "clean" MVR can vary, all can be cleared up by simply asking the prosepctive employer if your violations are a problem.

All that can transpire from that point is a simple, "Yes" or "No".

If this is on the DAC report, and the word "dismissed" is actually used next to the charge, then you shouldn't have any problem, AS LONG as this also coincides with the report issued by your state MVR as well. It might be a good idea to pull your report, just to see if the wording is the same.

Re: clean mvr

Hi

Thanks for the helpful reply.

ps.
Yeah, as I thought, the convictions can be dismissed with attorney’s help but the record will probably still reflect that at some point in the past I’ve had some convictions.

But it’s best, as you said, just to call the employer and ask if it matters.

Thanx

Wiseway will not hire a driver with a serious moving violation in their most recent three years, or continue to employ any driver that is convicted of a serious moving violation. Any conviction of 15 mph or more is a serious moving violation. This is an agreement they have with Great Western Casualty, the insurance carrier that covers the company. But, as we discussed earlier, if your ticket, even though noted, is listed on both your DAC report and your state MVR report as "dismissed", then you should be okay.

I'm not sure where you live, so I can't answer completely all of your questions regarding your situation or whether or not you will have an assigned truck. I can offer that most all of the long haul drivers that live outside of the normal commuting distances of a terminal are assigned trucks. Peddle and local drivers slip seat, for the most part.

I do have an assigned truck and I do take it home, but this is because I live too far from any of the terminals, but work within the LTL division and a regular traffic lane, where getting me home under a load each week is possible.

Keep in mind that DAC and MVR reports are different. Also that your local MVR may not reflect the same info as your state ran MVR.
