Please don't tell me what is on your DAC record. I don't care. I want to know what DAC is and what it means. If a company puts something on your DAC record, how do you check it and correct it. It seems to me that there are a few companies out there that are vindictive enough to try and destroy any hope of a novice's chance of a career for entirely petty "infractions". Howe do you protect yourself?

DAC is your driving credit report. Companies are required to document your previous years work and this tool facilitates that.

Best I've heard is it stands for Drive-A-Check.

It is widely reported to be abused with few checks and balances. You may dispute or add rebuttal to entries on it.

what DAC is? well to make it simple, DAC is like a credit reporting agancy only much worse, instead of reporting credit they report on drivers such as what a driver did for a company and what he did not do and it is not always true what they report in fact most of the time it is not.
a trucking company pays DAC to list you in there data base and they list whatever the company tells them to list wheater it good or bad dosent make any difference they list it it also dosent make any difference if the informattion is true and correct they dont care and they dont check they put down whatever the company says period.
now fortunatly it dosent apply to me i own my on trucks but if your a company driver they can do you some serious damage and your right ther are a lot of vindictive companys out ther in fact most of them that why i have my own, if you drive for a company your pretty much at there mercy.
CAN YOU DO SOMTHING ABOUT IT ? yes you can there is a number you can call to get a copy of your DAC report and you can contest any bad information on the report , sorry i dont have the number but it should be easy to get you can get it on O.O.I.D.A. WEBSITE.
hope this has helped you you my friend those people are a big pain and real dishonest. GOOD LUCK ------SOUTHERNPRIDE

    DAC stands for Drive-a-check.

It is a credit report just like an Equifax report, It falls under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). But instead of money such as Equifax, it reports your driving record form all the states, and other things such as for whom you drove commercially.

You may request a copy of your DAC report from USIS/DAC. Go to their website (I believe it is usis.com) and find the section where you may request a copy of your report. Memory serve the link is toward the bottom of the opening page. You may receive one once per year free of charge just like you may receive a copy of your money credit report from Equifax and the like for free once per year.

If something is incorrect on the report you must appeal to USIS/DAC to correct the problem.

From a retired federal DOT official
