Well if you look around this site you'll see there are many in the same situation. Times are tough, freight is slow.

Personally I think it's pathetic to leave drivers at truck stops for days. My miles are down a bit but that doesn't mean sitting for days at a t/s. Instead it means an extra day or two at home each month. Are these companies that unorganized they can't do the same?

On a side note I've been seeing more US trucks in Ontario that I'm used to. Not sure if it's just a matter of being in the right place at the right time or if some of the companies are taking more loads across the border now what freight is slow.

Freight is slow, but it hasnt stopped. Your dispatcher is sitting around painting his toenails.

You empty on Monday, around 9am. Yopu notify dispatch that you are empty and are awaiting your next load. Your dispatcher tells you to stand by and he/she will start looking for you a load. Your dispatcher then reads a chapter from his favorite book, get into an hour long discussion of the latest office gossip, goes on a 2 hour lunch, takes a 45 minute walk around the complex to burn off lunch, THEN starts looking for you a load. The load planners, however, have assigned all the loads in your area out by this time. So, around 4:20pm, your dispatcher tells you to call him in the morning, and he goes home at 4:45.

I suggest you change your trucker status from student in your profile . It might get more appropriate responses in future posts .
