What's the difference between "Line Haul" and "Over the Road"?
I've been driving for two years in the oilfield, and I'm looking for a change. I've seen a lot of companies that do "Line Haul" and I have no idea what it is, can't find a definition anywhere, but it sounds like OTR.

    Thanks!

Line haul is taking a trailer, or trailers from point A to point B and making a switch with someone OR....taking it from point A to point B to point C etc and then back to point A. Sometimes you are out a day or even three or four days, usually in a motel. Lots of line haul will do their 500 miles, switch their sets with another driver and stay in a motel there for the night, then return to their home terminal. Motels are mostly standard with a line haul job, unless you get the bunk house thing :biggrin_25510:.

OTR is out and staying out for X amount of time, you dont see home as often.
