    pros 0.00005mpg better

cons hydroplaning if you're not careful.

i found the SS's tread didn't seem to last as long. it would fall off in chunks in a weird way.

Wrong. 1/2 mpg to well over 1 mpg depending on what kind of crap tire you put on your truck. That translates to something between $4000 to as much as $10,000 per year into your pocket. That's money you piss away every year with crap tires.

Nothing you can't do with duals, if you're not careful. In fact you're much more likely to end up in a jackknife because duals break loose more violently than wide singles do.

The kind of money you save every year with low rolling resistance tires whether you run duals or singles will buy you a new set every year. Singles last me around 250,000 miles, about the same as duals with a reasonable rolling resistance. Tire cost while significant isn't anywhere near what you spend on fuel.

Say what? I am home every night. I drive a Freightliner Cascadia day cab. I do my 480mi a day and crash right about now. I do dedicated out and back. I haven't been OTR may 2011 when I quit Swift. The guys in that forum (especially the flease operators hate me.)

What little experience I had with super slicks was hauling fuel locally.

Thanks for the smart ### reply, but I am looking for a real answer. I wanna buy a set of super singles, which seller claims to be a take off set. I want to make sure they are not recaps. But how to tell the difference between new recaps and new virgins?

there will be a miss match seam where the cap ends are mated . A virgin tire won't have that as it same out of a mold.

    DUNE-T Thanks this.
