| What motor burns 10 gallons an hour at idle? Other then a turbine engine.

| most engines burn about 1 gallon/hour when idling. at today's fuel prices, that's $25-$30 for 10 hrs.Drivers are not worth that. But that load of produce, meat etc..., gotta keep that cool(or warm) no matter what it takes! when are we going to get it? drivers are worthless! thats what they keep telling us

I asked a cop once why they left their vehicles running, and he responded so that the battery didn't die from the gumballs. Y'all are starting to make me wonder if this career change I'm embarking on is worth the hassles - or if I should bring along my portable generator once I get my own truck.

I'm glad for right now I have a job,to you drivers out there my hat's off to you guys. It's a crying shame that (most) companies actually treat their workers like that. |

| Yeah ,My Bad I meant 1 gallon per hr ![]() Thats why I spend $40 at Motel 6 for anything over 10 hr. and try to keep the truck off for at least 2 of the 10. You do what you can to save fuel when it comes out of your pocket. Next round of trucks will have AP's

| Well, first of all i said idle for 8 hours not 10. And, i think most engines are going to use a little less than a gallon per hour. So, i'm sticking with around $18 or less per night. And if a company can't afford that, they really shouldn't be in business. |
