This is a dumb question about old OUI's

I have researching and looking into getting my CDL for a while ,but was waiting because I like my job now and have poor driving history. I looked up my driving record and it's got 2 old speeding violations(2002) ,operating after suspention 2002,failure to show proof of insurance 2002 , expiried registration 2002, and OUI 2002. Then I got OUI in 2004. I have not gotten in any trouble since except for a accident last summer , I was not at fault but it's on my record. I have-2 pts and have also been listed a habitual offender. So my dumb question is how screwed am I ? Thanks

Oh yeah I've driven a box truck for a respectable tent rental company since 2006 and didn't have trouble getting on their insurance, but I'd guess class C insurance is much different then class A insurance.

Just a guess....but I'd say yes. You pretty much screwed, even in a good economy.

i would say, give it about 5 more years...no i'm not being a wisea##...and STAY OUT of ANY trouble during that time, then revisit your desire to get a cdl.

i went from no license, stayed out of trouble for a few years, got my license back, then stayed clean a while longer and got my cdl. still have a clean record. it's not that hard, just takes a little time.

p.s. DON'T drink and drive, EVER!!

Yeah I'd been worried about the OUI's then got my driving record and saw all the other stuff. I was embarassed about everything I'd forgotten. It's been almost 5 years, so it looks like it'd be good to wait another 5? Thanks for the help here. Drinking and driving is terrible , I can't believe I ever did it.

Check in to whether or not you can get anything expunged off your record before you get your CDL. My husband was able to remove one of his. In California, something became eligible for expunging after 13 years.

That seems like a good thing to try

These things are stuff you think you'll be ammune to when your young then they come back in a big way. I don't plan on giving up but waiting and doing more research and study is always a good idea. Thanks for your advice.
