:Trailer: Will a driving company pre-hire a driver before they even enroll in a school to obtain a CDL? If I talk to the recruiters at a driving company (my main choice right now is with Gorton- GTI), will the recruiters allow a pre-hire on with the company if all application requirements (aside from having the CDL, obviously) are met? I read in another post that a driver had been pre-hired on with Gordon before they had started school, so I wanted to get any of you other guy's word and opinion in on this. And are there any tips any of you guys could give me to increase my chances of getting pre-hired in such a way? Thanks so much for the help! :biggrin_25525:

A pre-hire offer is a way to snag you from other companies.

It is not a valid offer/promise of a job.

A "pre-hire" from a trucking company is no more valuable than a pretty woman saying "in the future, if I'm single, and if I find you attractive, and if I don't change my mind, I will date you if you meet my requirements, whatever those might be."

It's less valuable than a truck stop napkin and the selection process is not nearly as strict as for the napkin.
