I have been with Sygma Dallas (Arlington) for 21 years. If you don't mind busting ### and some demanding hours, you can have a hell of a career at Sygma. The managmement at Sygma/Dallas is fair and straightforward. They demand honesty, but will stand behind you for it. If you are one of these guys that says "I don't touch freight" you are on the wrong thread. But if you don't mind "finger print" loads and you do like four day work weeks (in most cases) and you like being home four, or usually five nights a week, this might be for you. Anyone who is over 21 knows that there is no such thing as a job with no BS to put up with. They don't exist. But if you are self-motivated, responsible, reliable, able-bodied, mature and able to communicate effectively with customers, the sky's the limit. I have never had any interest in moving "up" to management, though the offer has been there numerous times. Driving for Sygma has always worked well for me. I work four days a week, have weekends and Wednesdays off, and average around 70K per year. I could easily make more, but I choose not to work that hard anymore since I am 55 years old maybe getting a little "lazy". I take a minimum of four weeks of vacation a year plus 3 personal days and 7 paid holidays. (Sygma shuts down on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years day.)

Sygma/Dallas is not a union shop, and I think that I speak for the vast majority of us when I say, we like it that way. If anyone has questions regarding working at Sygma, I will be glad to attempt to answer them. I will not sugar coat my answers. If I think that the company could do better in some areas (which I do), I will say so. But, I obviously feel that it is a good, fair and honest company that rewards hard work with good pay, or I would not still be there.
