It varies

I just started working for maverick what they say is 96 percent of the drivers get home every weekend all that means is at some point you will get home on the weekend how long and when varies.

It also depends which division you work for as they all have slightly different numbers of days out before they will get you home. If you are in the long-haul division you will be out for 13.5 days before you are schedule to get home.If you are in the us division or regional Atlantic then it is 6.5 days before they schedule to get you home.I know nothing about specialized those guy have their own rules.

Not trying to discourage you but don't think you will get home Friday at 3 and be off till Monday at 7 cause it don't work that way and at some point you will be part of that 4 percent that doesn't get home. They do seem to do a lot of trailer swaps to get people home which can be good or bad.If you lose a load with a lot of miles it is bad if you pick up a load with a lot of miles it is good.No tarps and stevedb28 have been with maverick allot longer and can probably give you better info then me.Later

Yep

They treat me well so far it is what you make it.I am a little aggravated right now because I cant get my inverter installed in my truck and they will only use their harness and they are on backorder. But that is such a small thing I dont let it work me up. That is my only complaint right now. They are a good company and I am glad I chose them. With no experience like me I don't think I could of chose a better company to start with.So yes I am delighted

I have refused trailer swaps before and even talked to the person in charge of the DM's because two swaps that I was asked to make would cut my miles too much and was told to stay on my run. I have a new fleet manager and have not had that problem since. I did ask if it was for an emergency to get that driver home both times and was told no it wasn't. They do not expect you to lose money to get someone else home. This is trucking and sometimes you don't get home. The swap I made this week got a driver home and I have no problem with that. Maverick is a team outfit and you will see that when you work for them. Drivers go out of their way to help each other. Every time I stop somewhere there is a mav driver that will come up and talk to me and ask if I want help folding tarps or will see if they can help one way or the other.

I have never worked for a company that drivers look out for one another. Sure they have a few out there that does not fit the mav standard, but it happens. I lost a couple bucks on this last swap, but it was no big deal. If you get in a position to where you are going to lose too much they will tell you to stay on your run or sweeten the pot to switch. I have got in on a thursday before and del on a tues before, so some of your weekends are long and I have done 34 hrs and rolled before. All and all your weekend is a decent stay except for every now and then.

Converts power

It is a device that converts the trucks battery power to 110 volts so you can run a TV ,microwave ,laptop you know the necessities of life. The nice thing about maverick is the smallest you can put in their trucks is 1000 watts mine is 2000 but you have to use their harness to hook up to the battery and those are on backorder right now. Music Mav

The company likes it when you deliver by 10AM everyday, some of the longest waits I had were by calling in after noon, on occasion I waited up to four hours or more but that is not the usual case. This company runs at a brisk pace, I believe they have certain criteria you must meet to stay with them. You can tell that there is an 'A' program and a 'B' program, because when you are the 'B' program you have a lot more time to make the trip and in general you wait a little longer for dispatch. I think they run you as hard as they can to see how much each individual can handle but if you don't make it, your loads back off a little bit, the difference is two to three hundred a week, a thousand on good weeks. Like any company they sometimes make some decisions that seem funny to me on the truck maintainace but it's thier truck so you just have to play along. They do have one nice perk of having a car available for off duty driver's at the terminal that you can use to make pickups or go to eat. drive55cat

Man I wish they didn't have such a long wait at their school! I'm so ready to get started. Still trying to get my class A on my own.
