You can tell that there is an 'A' program and a 'B' program, because when you are the 'B' program you have a lot more time to make the trip and in general you wait a little longer for dispatch. I think they run you as hard as they can to see how much each individual can handle but if you don't make it, your loads back off a little bit, the difference is two to three hundred a week, a thousand on good weeks. Like any company they sometimes make some decisions that seem funny to me on the truck maintainace but it's thier truck so you just have to play along. They do have one nice perk of having a car available for off duty driver's at the terminal that you can use to make pickups or go to eat. drive55cat

I must be in the A group then! The most I have made with them is $1200 after taxes. Several times I have taken home over a grand. I reckon it all depends on where you live and if you make your picks and drops on time.

you know i have been with maverick for over a year and have never been told every drop has to be done before 10 am. the only one i have been told has to be dropped before 10 is your 1st drop of week and that isn't set in stone. i have asked to drop later and even had receivers want it later

Just about everywhere I go, someone helps me or I help them. I told a guy the other day I would have helped him tarp, but I was pushing to get somewhere. I could tell he was new. He said no problem. Even when I go to truckstops there is always a mav that comes up and talks to me. Hmmmm. what are you doing to scare off all these drivers?

I will help

I would never walk buy anyone and not offer a hand if they look like they needed it that is just my nature and the way I was raised. The key is if I have the time.Everyone keeps telling me freight is slow but I seem to be running my ##### off and I haven't sat for more then 30 minutes anywhere without being under a load.

When I was tarping this nightmare load friday. A mav driver pulled up beside me and asked me if I wanted help. I told him thanks, but it is friday this is our run to the house. Go on home and enjoy your weekend. I will be OK.

I have been with Maverick since 1998 and am currently trainning drivers. I agree that when it was a smaller company, drivers helped each other more. My students and I always help other drivers with there tarps wether they a Maverick or not. If you want to change how things are done at Maverick and the attitude of the drivers, it all starts with you. I can't control what others do, but I can make a differance with another driver, and that's what counts the most.
